Grace Koenig-Song is staying close to home. The NASA Wildcats swimmer has committed to Northwestern for 2028, keeping a Chicago-area breaststroker in the Chicago area for college.

Her short course yard bests are 1:00.28 in the 100 breast and 2:10.83 in the 200 breast. She has also been 1:59.83 in the 200 IM. That third event matters here: it makes this more than a two-race breaststroke story.

Northwestern appeared at #10 in our full Match list for her reported yard times, in the Strong group. It was a three-event result: the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM each landed in the Wildcats’ Scorer range.

SwimSwam reported that Koenig-Song finished 12th in the 200 breast at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. She has already raced on a big international stage, and now her next stop is a university a short trip from home. Congratulations to Grace on the commitment.

For this look back, we entered the published short course yard times on October 20, 2026 against the 2025–26 roster snapshot.
